I had a video-shoot for the video-clip this weekend. All the band members doing their stuff in front of a green screen. Their all going to be mixed in with the animation and video of the scale-models.

A very short photo report of the process of building my stop-motion character.
I started by making a full scale drawing of the puppet, on which I based my armature. I made a aluminium wire armature (armature is the skeleton of a stop-motion puppet) and glued this into a piece of upholstery foam which I had cut into the (very) rough shape of the puppet. When the was dry I continued shaping the upholstery foam until I was happy with it.
This is the armature with the foam for the body glued on and most of it already cut into shape.
Next I covered the upholstery foam with liquid latex to create a smoother skin.
I then painted it and shaped the head out of plasticine (a modelling clay often used in animation to make stop-motion animations).
Even more sketches and designs (and some of the old ones cleaned up and rearranged), and some colour impressions, for the Sternenkind Video-clip.

GRIP is a serious health game for children with diabetes and their parents. GRIP is linked to an interactive web-based self management application for diabetes patients. Children experience which activities and foods are affecting their blood sugar level. By connecting personalized information from the electronic patient file (EPS) to a game, children learn to make decisions and develop skills based on their current health situation.
It's for a song called Sternenkind from their upcoming album.
And these are some of the very first sketches and moodboard.

Let's start with the older stuff, that's usually how a blog works, the old stuf at the bottom and the newer stuff at the top. This is the result of one of two animations assignments, an open assignment and a leader for Holland Animated Film Festival, and I needed to complete to graduate, this is what i made for the open assignment. It's traditional animation (drawing frame by frame) glued together in Adobe After Effects.
